Fixed lighting often dictates the boundaries of our workspace, leaving shadows in the places where we need clarity most. Zenit reclaims this control. By merging a portable form with a gentle, diffused radiance, it transforms light into a tactile experience that travels with you, turning any corner of a room into a dedicated sanctuary.

About This Project
I designed Zenit to move away from the clinical, piercing glare associated with modern task lighting.
The goal was to craft a vessel for light that felt human—warm, soft, and approachable. I gravitated
toward a minimalist silhouette, stripping away ornamentation to highlight the interplay between the
dark, weighted base and the luminous, frosted top.
The physical interaction defined my design choices. The grip is ergonomic, allowing the object to rest
naturally in the hand like a stone worn smooth by water. I chose materials that feel substantial yet
inviting, ensuring the lamp acts as a grounding presence rather than just a functional tool.
Illumination at this scale changes our relationship with the immediate environment. It encourages a
slower, more focused interaction with our surroundings. Zenit suggests that by holding the light
ourselves, we become more aware of what we are highlighting, turning the act of seeing into an
intentional, meditative practice.
